Geometric tattoo

Geometric tattoos at outliers ink tattoo studio

Geometric tattoos use symbolism, shape and symmetry to convey cultural, spiritual and mathematical concepts. Their precise lines and intricate patterns can be used to express personal philosophies, reflect nature and the universe. So their visual appeal is only a part of what makes geometric tattoos so meaningful. Reach out to our tattoo studio located in Birmingham to find out more.

Interestingly different shapes and their combinations carry unique significance, some symbols that you find in geometric tattoo designs include:

  • Circle tattoo meaning: The meaning of circles in tattoos can convey oneness, wholeness, unity and infinity.
  • Triangle tattoo meaning: Triangles in tattoos can be used to signify masculinity and femininity or water and fire depending on which way up they are. The three sides often represent mind, body and spirit, or life birth and death.
  • Mandala tattoo meaning: Mandala tattoo designs have been used as an aid for meditation and can be custom made for each unique wearer signifying the quest for eternal inner harmony. Originating in Hindu and Buddhist practices, the word mandala means circle in Sanskrit.
  • Lotus flower tattoo meaning: Viewed as a symbol of purity, renewal, spiritual growth and strength due to the lotus flower being rooted in the mud and rising through the murky water to bloom. Lotus flower tattoos can be incorporated into larger designs or used alone for a simple clean tattoo design.
  • Ancient and alchemical symbols: Any ancient symbol can be incorporated into a tattoo design to impart meaning but it is important to have an understanding of what that symbol means before inking it into the skin. Researching your design ideas is a fun part of the process and at Outliers Ink in Birmingham we are happy to work with you to create your custom pieces with meaning.
  • The Flower of Life tattoo meaning: The flower of life in a tattoo can symbolise creation and the unity of everything. It is a sacred geometric symbol.
  • Metatron’s Cube tattoo meaning: Made up of 13 circles connected by straight lines. The Metatron’s cube is a sacred geometric symbol thought to bring balance and harmony.

GEOMETRIC TATTOO FAQ's

If you get a fine line script tattoo at Outliers Ink then no, the tattoo will not blow out. This is down to poor application. And pain is subjective, most of our clients fall asleep and it is dependent on your own personal pain threshold, but for the most part we don’t find that fine line tattoos are more painful than any other tattoo style and they bleed less dues to them being less traumatic.

This again is subjective but you are paying for the artist’s skill. Not all tattoo artists can do fine line tattoos successfully as they tend to be small, and minimalist, therefore the lines need to be precise and delicate for the tattoos to heal well. And not all tattoo artists are equal.

Absolutely and this question deserves its own section WE HAVE GOT YOU COVERED.  When we talk about inclusivity this is exactly one of the key points that we know is sadly still massively underrepresented in the tattoo industry.

We are experts in tattooing all skin tones: black and brown skin in all shades. We constantly have clients who come to us who were told that the tattoo they wanted couldn’t be done on their skin tone. This includes colour tattoos on black skin. The thing is, your skin tone is not the issue, the artist’s skill set is. Like hair shops we believe you should be able to walk into a tattoo shop in Birmingham and receive the best work not just locally but in the country regardless of your age or skin tone.

So we created Outliers Ink, a tattoo and piercing studio that is the place for everyone to get their dream tattoo without worrying whether they will be told their skin will be an issue. Leave it to us. The home of the best Birmingham tattoo artists. Have you booked yours yet?
